History Publishing Company is a name that may not be as well known as some other publishing houses, but when it comes to quality there are few houses in the industry that can compare. Slated for a January 2008 release they are readying Legerdemain by James J. Heaphey.

I managed to get a sneak peak at some pre-release material, and it left me salivating! With exotic Morocco as the backdrop Legerdemain explores the cold war in the early 1950’s. Morocco may seem like an unlikely setting for a book about ‘super power’ intrigue and the atomic bomb, it was in fact a very influential location. In the early 50’s the US had the bomb, but not the delivery method to drop it directly on the USSR, ICBM”s were on the drawing board, but yet to become a reality. Morocco was a great location, the heavy lift, long range bombers could make the fateful journey to the heart of the Russian bear.

The one problem with this plan is Morocco had the political stability of a plate of Jello. Who do the US court, the ruling French, or the nationalistic Moroccan movement?

James Heaphey was there! This is going to be a tell all book, a story that is told for the first time. It was not until recently that the information was declassified by the government.

I can’t wait to get my hands on the book, I have been teased, now I want the whole thing!
