A nice article from Bloggers New Network about Black America: Does it forgive Dog the Bounty Hunter? The story below speculates that they do, based on the response from Dog’s black fans.
We got one such letter yesterday at DBKP. It’s after the story below.

A majority of African Americans who saw Duane Chapman’s interview on Larry King express a willingness to forgive dog the bounty hunter provided his remorse and humility was genuine. I made a point of asking one of my neighbors who is black to watch the show so I could solicit his opinion. ”Mostly I would say its his upbringing that caused him the trouble” my friend remarked. I asked if he felt it would be appropriate for A&E to give him his job back. “Yea and he should spend some of the salary they pay him on adult education”. ”The thing is, Not so much what the “Dog” was saying” ”It’s a black minister willing to come on National t.V.’ and say now look here brothers and sisters, I am this mans spiritual leader and while he may need counseling on the use of profanity and slurs he is not a racist and I am also telling you he is a believing Christian and a friend of mine”
We received this email yesterday. We thought the writer made some good points.
I want to send you an e-mail to let you know that I and my non-white family are behind the Dog! He said nothing but an exagerated swear word for what the “duo” must have already done before this incident…
Not only that the conversation very private, but also made public by people that you must doubt integrity and motives; how did they get Dog talking like that despite of his “one of the boys” attitude even with criminals…???? Like my grandson may say,”are you nuts?”
Said Damon Wayans at the “View,” “Black folks sitting it out laughing, just watching,, while whites cry out ‘foul’, ‘foul’ and have the sense of what?… conscience? ” Let’s ruin someone today?”

If the ”n” word should not be used then the rule should apply to everybody, not just to the people of diffrent race. this word should be erased from our vocabulary. If this is such a big essue then shouldnt the black community stop using it. shouldn’t the example be placed uppon the black community, that keep on using it. especialy by the entertainment group. It is time for the black community to start cleanin up and start leading by example.
My prayers to the Chapman family and co-workers. The healing should start and forginess given. Every body stumbles at the feet of love. Happens to the best of us. To the Dog keep fighting the fight, God didnt bring this far to stumble. Maybe this is a test for all of us. Not just for the Dog. God will forgive those that ask for forgiveness, And judge those that refuse to forgive. Dog my family and i love the show. Keep on the fight and dont forget that the lord is with you all the way.
I believe that the word “Nigger,” the name adopted by the Pirates of the 1800’s that ferried the slaves to America, did not know what to call them when they brought them from the Country known as “Nigeria”, so they used the name of the country they came from, and believing that all the black slaves from the african continent were also from Nigeria. Hence the knick name, Nigger. It is not a dirty word by all means, but an acronymn derived from the country of which many of them came from. We call those from Poland, Polocks. Anyone from Italy, Ginnies. and the list goes on. My Parents came from Denmark & Sweden. I was called a “Tanic swede”, and did not know what that was until I was told it meant “survivor from the Titanic” Many Swedes & Danes were on the Titanic, but few were survivors. Many of My Black Friends still call each other Nigger, and no one seems to mind. I think Rev. Jackson, and Al Sharpton need to get a Life! they seem to have too much time on their hands getting into meaningless qualms, and trying to get their names in the media every time someone says the word.

I use to be a big fan of “Dog the bounty hunter” but after this incident it shows me how different people are behind close door,as a christian and person of color i cant forgive a man that repeatedly use the N word over and over again throughout the conversation. This incident make me more weary of white peope ever more because once again, they prove to me that in font of you they all nice but behind close door they true self come out.

Dog; I love you man. I am a simple man, fatehr of 2, working for a living and raising my family. You and I are kindred spirits. The fac to f the N word you said, is not an issue at all. People are out there saying this stuff as if it is all right for this man to behave this way. He has a duty and obligation to his fans. Well it is not okay. I am a part of black america. And what I’m hearing is that Dogg is the victim. I do not think the man should lose his job. He has to make a living. But something has to be done, Look at the example he’s setting, not only for his fans but his own children. Dogg still have small children at home. America will never be able to heal with all this Racism. And not only that, this man curse like you wouldn’t believe even if heard it was coming out of his mouth. But he say he is a born again christian. Christian means Christ-Like and I have not heard or read Christ behaving like Dogg. I saw Dr. Phil Friday and I did not see where Black America has forgiven him, just the opposite. And white people talk about Al Sharpton like he carry the plague. If we did not have Men like him where would black people be, probably still getting lynched. I watched Dogg every week, I really enjoyed his shows, I was so proud of him when he went to Mexico and got the Maxx Factor guy. I fought for him all the way. I read everything about his case that I could find. But I don’t know if I will ever be able to watch his show and see him the same way again. Because I just don’t know if he is fake or not.

Have you ever thought about what Al Sharpton’s motives are? It is called extortion….Al Sharpton could deep down give a rats ass about anyone except Al Sharpton…..
