The author presumes to speak for all victims and assumes that the only means available to address the harm done to the victim and the family is for society to get down to the level of the condemned person. First, not all victims' families and friends want the victims to be remembered with another killing. Second, public opinion, both domestic and internationally, is turning against the use of capital punishment because, as Justice Blackmun wrote, the death penalty experiment has failed. There are so many problems with the administration of the death penalty that it must soon collapse.
