It is a well-documented fact that the vast majority of reports of domestic violence by women against men are made truthfully and factually.

Also, it is a myth that women exaggerate or simply make up false allegations of domestic violence.

However, the man who wrote this post presents a very presumpuous and biased perspective that appears to imply that men are most frequently falsely accused of domestic violence.

Moreover, ex parte communications are a breach of judicial conduct and warrant removal of a judge, and there is no excuse for making exceptions.

Also, certainly the judge could have continued proceedings until such time as the woman could obtain and wear shorts, or until such time as a forensic medical professional could have evaluated and documented the wound.

Given the other improprieties of this judge (e.g., negotiating with parties from the bench, advising parties as to strategies that would be considered more favorable with the court such as not being a single parent) it seems very clear that the Virginia Supreme Court acted properly and with integrity.

There is no excuse for domestic violence, nor for the prejudice that is rampant with the myth that men are frequently falsely accused. Also, it does appear that many commenters who are men, do not recognize that domestic abuse includes more than physical abuse.

Quite frankly, why is this man who posted this comment so concerned with looking the other way for judges who break judicial cannon and who are prejudiced against victims of domestic abuse?
