From an average black woman:
Not to be the word police but...The term, is "jibe" as in "...an opinion that does not jibe" --or fit-- with mainstream thought. "Jive" is the music that predated hip-hop, or it is a form of kidding as in "you're jiving me" or utter lameness as in "your essay is a bunch of jive". Also, I believe the phrase is not "sticky widget", but "sticky wicket"--"wicket", as in the game of croquet.

Your comments in my opinion are spot on. I don't really embrace Bill O'Reilly, I don't dislike him either. I have seen his program on FOX at times, but so very rarely. I don't think for a moment that his comments were race induced, but I think his phrasing could have been different. I could understand why people mis-understand it, and that is why you have to make attempts at being more sensitive to what you are actually saying. I am very un-politically correct and I work in a very politically correct group that are constantly telling me to watch what I say. My company is not actually like that, but the group that I am in is. It drives me crazy and I do slip up more then I would like to say. People are very sensitive and it sucks. I do agree with your comments though!
