I know this is old, but thanks for reporting on this issue. Now that the Olympics are getting closer everyone is learning more about the atrosities covered up by the Beijing government. This issue of Tibet has also helped bring the issue up on a world wide stage because more people are involved with this.

Some try to clam that the "Olympics" isn't a political event. I differed from that analogy because the events are promoting various countries, their flag, their national anthem and in some cases their athletes. Some governments pay their athletes to complete, some nations don't. It's always been a political event after the Greeks opened it up to a world wide stated event representing various countries.

Yes! The Olympics being held in Beijing is a political even, hence China paranoid that the Tibetan's were going to mess things up for them. Tibetans had a peaceful demonstration on the 49th anniversary of the failed uprising of 1959. China could of just let them demonstrate peacefully, however the paranoid Beijing had to go in and confront these peaceful demonstrators when brought the issue of the Tibetan people in the forefront.

I first didn't speak of a "boycott" of Beijing 2008 issues, but Beijing's arrogance and complicity on the issue of Genocide has made me change my mind. That goes for anyone else who appears to be standing aside from this issue.

Boycott!

Thanks, The Stiletto needs to know that. She often gets online abuse - and sometimes even threats - for articles such as this.
